Dona Paula, the ‘Lover Paradise’ beach has a sad story attached to its name. The beach is named after the viceroys heartbroken daughter Dona Paula who ended her life when she could not marry to a local fisherman she loved. There is a twin sculpture present in close proximity of the beach which is often mistaken as that of Dona Paula and her lover. But these sculptures were made by a German baroness in memory of US senator. This mesmerizing beach is a famous lover spot and serene and tranquil ambience. A large number of tourists, teenagers and young couples can be seen frequenting this place. The favorable time to visit the beach is between the months of November to March.

The beautiful beach is located at the unification point of Arabian Sea, Mandovi and Zuari Rivers. The major highlight is the cruises that are very famous among various tourists. While standing at the Dona Paula bay one can enjoy the enchanting views of Mamagao Harbor.

The National Oceanography Institute preserves an interesting collection of artifacts related to marine oceanography and biology. The Taxonomy Reference centers and marine biology museum are visited by many tourists.
Raj Bhavan:
Raj Bhavan the official house of the Goa governor also makes for a prime tourist attraction. One can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Aguada Fort and coastline from Raj Bhavan. Close to Raj Bhavan lies the tomb of Dona Paula de Menzes in Cabo Chapel area is also a must visit attraction.
