Baga Beach

Baga Beach, situated in North Goa, is around 9 kilometers from Mapusa and around 16 kilometers from Panaji, the capital of Goa. This beach is a prime part of the 30- km stretch of beach coastline. Baga beach is located within the other 2 famous beaches of north Goa- Anjuna and Calangute. If you want to see all the action and want to get the feel of the real Goan culture, then this is the place to be- adventure activities, great food and wine, shopping and energetic nightlife.

Water sports

Baga is just for perfect for enjoying swimming and sunbathing, along with partaking in various kinds of water sport facilities. You can enjoy activities like snorkeling, parasailing, water skiing, banana ride, water scooter, windsurfing, kayaking and many more. Just relax on the beach and enjoy the ever-amazing sunset view. You can also try your hand at fishing by hiring a fisherman’s boat.

Dolphin viewing

This is one of the best things; you can hire an individual water boat or a group boat from the shore, for dolphin viewing, popular amongst adults and children, alike.

Hiring a motorbike or a Scooty

You can easily hire a Scooty or a motorbike and enjoy a ride along the road. Enjoy the amazing atmosphere of the place.

Shopping 

In addition to all these activities, Baga beach offers an amazing opportunity to the tourists to shop.  The road alongside the beach is dotted with shops that sell handbags, other accessories, clothes, handicrafts, knick-knacks and much more. Another major attraction is the Saturday flea market, also called Saturday night market, which is not for shopping but you can also enjoy the performances by local musicians.

Baga Retreat House

Established in the year 1953, Baga retreat house or the Casa de Retiro is located on a hill. Situated on the peninsular end of the Calangute shore, it was founded by Father Le Tellier. One of the major attractions near the Baga beach, it is dedicated to St. Francis Xavier and is used for meditation and prayer.

Medicinal Spring

A perfect spot for picnic, the Medicinal springs are at Mottant. It is believed that that the water spring, located near the Bom Viagem Convent has medicinal properties.

Sea Cure

It is believed that the sea at the Baga beach offers a cure from body disorders like joint pain and arthritis. During the month of May, each year, people visit the beach to take a dip in the sea waters.

Sangodd River Fest

Sangodd river fest is an annual river fest, which is the celebration of the Baga River.

Nightlife

The road along the Baga beach is famous for its nightlife. Places around the Tito’s Lane are Club Titos and Cafe Mambo, two amazing places to enjoy great food, sparkling wine and lively music being played by the DJs and will leave a memorable impression. Besides these two, there are other places as well like Cocktails and Dreams, Sports Café and Cavala.

Beach shacks

Baga beach is dotted with some most amazing shacks, which serves lip-smacking local Goan as well as sea food.
