Aguada Beach is a superb beach located in the northern part of Goa. The beach lies at a convenient distance of 14kms from Panaji city. A lot of tourists head towards the beach to enjoy the trinity of sea, sand and sun. The tranquil and splendid sights of its scenic surroundings has a soothing effect on visitors. It is a lovely sight to watch when the azure water of the sea laps against its golden sand.  Unlike many seas of Goa the aquamarine water of the Aguada beach  is perfect for swimming  and also supports many water sports activities.

The Aguada beach offers the visitors to enjoy a series of water sports activities which include parasailing, water scooter,  banana ride, windsurfing, water skiing and kayaking. One can also lie around the beach to enjoy sunbathing  and observe mesmerizing sunset view.

Shopping at Augada Beach

While being at the Augada Beach one can enjoy the shopping of various items ranging from magnificent artifacts and beautiful Kashmiri carpets.  The road along the beach is sprinkled with small stalls which sell various items like clothes, handicrafts, knick-knacks etc.

Hiring a motorbike or a Scooty

One can enjoy exploring the beautiful surroundings sprinkled around the Aguada Beach by simply hiring a motorbike or Scooty. Goa is the only state in India where  bike are licensed to be used as taxis.

Attractions

Aguada Fort :

Aguada Fort is the most popular tourist attraction placed around the enchanting Aguada Beach. The fort was commissioned during the Portuguese period for controlling the access to the Mandovi River and to protect Old Goa from the invaders. The prime attractions to visit inside the fort include Reis Magos Church and the Reis Magos Fort.

Kerkar Art Gallery:

The Kerkar Art Gallery is set in close proximity to Aguada Beach is a must visit. Exploring this art gallery one can see the art and craft pieces prepared by the local artists. The art gallery is also famous amongst the tourists for exhibiting the beautiful installations and sculptures of the famous Indian artist Subodh Kerkar. It also showcases some of the selected pieces of work of various other contemporary artists.

Church St. Alex:

Church of St. Alex is located on the CHOGM Road and is famous amongst the tourists for its Rococo style architecture and big dome. The church was commissioned in 1597 and features elegant interior design and decorative altars. It is one of the oldest surviving churches found in Goa. The church complex also has a cave of Lady of Lourdes and its towers was erected in 1765.  

Goa State Museum:

The Goa State Museum is another major attraction to visit while being around the Aguada Beach. The museum is renowned for preserving a huge collection of artifacts. The premises of the Goa State Museum are segregated into 12 galleries. The collections and the preserved articles comprise of Jain and Hindu sculptures, textiles, timber items, coins, mud models, paintings collected from various parts of India.
